Düsseldorf is the ideal base for an exploration of German football

There are regular flights to Düsseldorf airport from most parts of the UK, and Eurostar can get you there from London with one change.
It is on the edge of a huge urban area called the Ruhrgebiet, which is home to many of Germany’s oldest clubs.
Transport links are cheap, efficient and really easy to use.
You can easily get to lots of clubs, so it’s easy to build a short visit around two or three games.
Düsseldorf is a great city – well worth a visit with or without football.
