Using public transport in Frankfurt
The organisation which co-ordinates public transport in the Frankfurt region is called RMV ( Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund). The entire system of buses, trams (Straßenbahn), light rail (S-Bahn) and underground (U-Bahn) is fully integrated, which makes using public transport in Frankfurt really easy.
The cheapest way to get around is to buy a day ticket (Tageskarte), which will cost 5.35 euros for the city centre and 9.55 euros for journeys as far as the airport. You can also buy a group ticket (Gruppentageskarte) for up to 5 travellers for 11.30 and 16.60 respectively.
The English section on the RMV website is a great place to find out more about tickets and to plan your journeys. RMV also has an App, which allows you to use your smartphone to plan trips and buy tickets. You can download it for Android or Apple devices.
There is clear information at every bus and tram stop and on every underground platform, so getting where you want to go will not be a problem.
